The Cure for Healthcare

American healthcare is in crisis.
This book offers the cure.
Dr. Dale, a British physician, was introduced to the realities of the American healthcare system when he received a bill for knee surgery that was nearly 10 times what he was quoted by the surgeon. That began a journey of exploration into the complexities of the American healthcare system and a search for real solutions.

Everyone knows the current healthcare system is broken. The Cure for Healthcare explores the solutions that are emerging not from Washington, D.C., but from innovative doctors, business owners and technologists.

Whether you are an individual trying to figure out your own healthcare, a doctor seeking to improve life for patients, or a business leader trying to find affordable quality care for your employees, this eye-opening book provides a practical roadmap to better choices, higher quality, and lower cost healthcare.

Praise for The Cure for Healthcare
  • "To fix the broken American health care system, one must truly understand how we broke it. This book is an important read for those seeking to understand the problem. In his book, Dr. Dale does an excellent deep dive into the problems in American medicine. He effectively describes the inherent problem with the failed Federal policies and intrusive middlemen in health care. He takes readers on a complete journey by highlighting real-world functioning patient-centered solutions that removes barriers between doctors and patients."
Dr. Lee Gross, Co-founder and Senior Vice President of Epiphany Health and President, Docs4PatientCare Foundation
  • "To read this book is to become better acquainted with Dr. Tony Dale, a man I’m honored to call a friend and someone the medical free market revolution can also call a friend and co-combatant. Dr. Dale exemplifies Ortega y Gasset’s ‘select man,’ emboldened by challenges and unafraid to set new goals, the achievement of which benefits us all. Unwilling to rest on his many laurels, Dr. Dale has generously chosen to provide this guidebook meant to steer us clear from the gulag of the collectivist brand of medical ‘care.’"
Dr. Keith Smith- Founder, Surgery Center for Oklahoma
  • "We live in an age where health insurance is unimaginably expensive. Yet, given skyrocketing deductibles, it is almost unusable for the average American. The Cure for Healthcare is a must-read for anyone who wants to actually fix the system and put the patient and his or her physician back at the center of American healthcare."
Dr. C.L. Gray, President, Physicians for Reform

Meet Dr. Tony Dale
Tony, a British native, grew up in Taiwan and Britain and trained at the world-renowned Royal and Ancient Hospital of St. Bartholomew (“St. Bart’s”) in London, England. He met his wife Felicity during his time at St. Bart’s. After practicing family medicine in East London, Tony and his family moved to the United States in 1987. Tony’s interest in medical economics began following his experience with the American medical system when he needed knee surgery in 1996. From his personal experience of the inconsistencies and staggering cost of the system, Tony determined to find a way to help people find better access to quality and affordable care, founding The Karis Group in 1996.

Sedera is ranked 14th in the Texas Region on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in 2021. This prestigious honor comes after Sedera was also recognized as being in the top 4% of Inc.’s 2020 national list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

In 2014, recognizing the unmet needs in the traditional health insurance industry, Tony founded Sedera as an alternative Medical Cost Sharing solution. Medical Cost Sharing allows members to be part of an organized community to share funds for medical care. Sedera offers services all across America to groups large and small, helping both employees and individuals deal with their larger medical costs through the Sedera Medical Cost Sharing Community.

Today, Tony and Felicity enjoy the great pleasure of being grandparents as their four children are grown.
